Professor Daniel Serrao passed away at the age of 88


Professor Daniel Serrao, emeritus member of the Pontifical Academy for Life, passed away on January 8, 2017, at the age of 88. He was among the first members called by St. John Paul II in 1994 to form the Academy.

Prof. Serrao has always maintained an active and collaborative role within the Academy, contributing, with appreciated expertise, to develop and disseminate the ethical principles and values for the protection and promotion of human life according to the teachings of the Church. With sorrow upon his loss and cherishing with gratitude his invaluable witness, we ensure our prayers and express our sincere condolences to the family.
